Dealing with Creative Block for Artists

If you’re like me, you get frustrated when you fail to come up with fresh and engaging ideas for your next creative project.  I love to think of this as being like ‘writer’s block’ – any creative person can also get in a groove and run out of creative ideas.  Recently, I have been in the rut and have been searching for techniques to kick-start my creativity again.  You could be curious about what I found at infoandarticles.net – a great site for humanities and crafts.

First I came across The Artist’s Way review which I read with awe and then proceeded to buy the book.  I had been told of this book before but had dismissed it.  I’m satisfied that I’ve now read it as it has completely modified how I suspect about creative capability and capability.  After working my way through the varied exercises, I discovered some long forgotten interests that when I did them again I gained enormous enjoyment.  I found myself asking why I had stopped doing those things.

The other surprise from the site was the DVD Rubber Paper Scissors with Judi Watanabe review which also led me to buy and I’m so glad i did.  For those that have no idea, Judi Watanabe is a veteran in the rubber stamping industry.  You will have seen her latterly on CraftTV doing super scrapbook-related episodes.  For a period of time now, I had been longing for a complete instructional DVD on rubber stamping.  You most probably guessed that I used to be a rubber stamper, but still set in all the old techniques.  It is now time to bring myself recent and this DVD is chock-full of step by step instructions to help me.  I also must complement the great video and audio production.
